New Fast Casual Mediterranean Restaurant Brings Doner Kebab to Triangle

Updated: Nov 25, 2020

MezzeMe is Austin’s latest Mediterranean fast casual restaurant, which made its debut at the end of June. The menu’s main focus is customizable meals. Pitas and bowls with grains are dressed up with meats, like beef, lamb, or chicken doner kebab, falafel, and more, as well as a variety of toppings from feta cheese to harissa.

Meals are available for dine-in or to-go. For drinks, there are juices. To keep people entertained while eating at the restaurant, there is wifi and iPad stations with games, movies, and the such.

This is owner Moody Ugur’s first spot in the city, after running two establishments in Istanbul, Turkey. MezzeMe’s hours are from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

Further down on Guadalupe is the first Austin location of New York food sensation Halal Guys, which opens next week. The city also has the similarly-concepted Verts Mediterranean Grill. That Austin-born chain closed four of its shops in the city, with eight remaining Austin-area locations, ahead of its East Coast expansions in cities like Boston, New York, and Philadelphia.
